The Tag School Reader is an easy-to-use handheld learning tool for students in PreK through Grade 3. This personal learning tool responds to every touch on specially printed books and materials, with audio feedback and on-demand reading assistance. Students reading Miss Spider's Tea Party, for example, can touch an icon to hear the story read aloud, or touch a single word to hear the pronunciation. Even the pictures come to life for added story context and background information. Engaging activities focus on core reading skills including comprehension, vocabulary development, phonics, and phonemic awareness. The setup you choose for your classroom will depend on how many Tag School Readers you have and your preferred instructional model. Reading Center: One-to-One: Tag School Readers and books are portable, do not require student computers, and are easy to use outside the classroom, making them especially suitable for after-school and home-school connection programs. The engaging, interactive approach keeps students interested as they work to develop early literacy and comprehension skills. Progress tracking and reporting features support the accountability goals for these types of programs. A progress tracking and reporting are features of the LeapFrog School Connect desktop application version coming in early 2009. Educators using Tag School Readers before 2009 will automatically receive a free upgrade for this feature. |
